08:36 am - Leaving home! (life was never good to me) So i've been told that i don't post enough. which is fair, cause i generally dont have much to post. so instead of just emailing this to the certain party, i thought i'd post it ;)
****
SO! Moni's friends Rickie and Simon have decided to move out of the house their renting and move into the house that Simon owns. however, its a bit occupied with the rest of his family. so he's going to extend it. its more or less extended now, the extension just needs to be made liveable. so he's going to get the process started, then move in and start fixing it up.
in the meantime, Rickie is gonna be stuck in the original rented place without enough income to pay the bills etc. It's a 3 bedroom house, 1 bath, lockup garage and carport, large backyard.
so, Simon and Rickie have asked if we would like to move in for that period of time, 6 or so months until Rickie can follow Simon into the new place, then it's ours!
They pay $230 a week, which is only $15 more than us. we have a 2 bedroom flat which is hot in summer, cold in winter and surrounded by inconsiderate jackasses. this is a 3 bedroom house with neighbours who keep to themselves and AIRCON :O the plan is that we'd split the rent and bills even down the middle for the 6 months. this means we'll actually be paying less for rent and bills for several months, which frees up a RIDICULOUS amount of cash for us to put aside as a possible deposit on a place of our own to buy.
We've thought it over and can not see many cons, and a lot of Pros. so we're a bit choofed :D

02:47 pm - The Great Mulled Wine Experiment of 2008! Well, christmas was pretty damn good! i was a bit disappointed that i didnt get to go to canberra this year because of work. i'll be doing my best to fix that for 2009 i guess!
now, i wanted to mention the great mulled wine expeirment. i'm glad to say it was a complete success! the recipe itself was simple as, the hardest bit being grating the orange for the zest. it was:
2 red apples - roughly chopped, 2 oranges - zested, 2 nutmegs - ground, 4 quills of cinnamon, 20 cloves, 1/2 cup of caster sugar, 2 cups of water, 2 bottles of wine. combine all ingredients but wine, bring to boil then simmer for 10 minutes. then add wine and simmer for 5. strain and serve.
it was AWESOME! tasted just like it should, and everyone loved it. complete success :D

08:48 pm - Life, The Universe, and surprisngly not much else Well! here we go!
update:
Life; got an interview tomorrow (Tuesday). first round interview for a position with GE Money. It's in Parramatta, so if i get it, its a single train. awesomely awesomely easy. gonna shave, lay on the smooth and see how we go. otherwise, everything is on hold really.
Roleplaying: Hooked up with RPGA - been attending the Blacktown Games Day. 4th ed is good fun, but it lacks the roleplaying elements of 3rd. it really is Rollplaying. i do enjoy the powers, they are a great, but i don't like the fact that there are no stat boosts on items anymore, and that most magic items have a once-per-day (or p'raps a little more if you pass a milestone) use. Also hooked up with Middsoc. Jeremiah is now level 10 :D i plan on doing some more Die every now and then to boost him higher. bwahahaha!

06:35 pm - Nightwish Now, i'm not usually one to try to enforce others opinions musically, nor do i like to command "this is teh greeetest EVA!!!!" or anything, or pretend i know more than i do (well..often)
That being said, holy hell!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdZn7k5rZLQ
So i was getting a bit sick of Nightwish TBH, i didnt find Tarja that spectacular as a vocalist, so when i heard she was booted from the band i was like "heh" and that was it. no further contact and i didnt mind. but a few days back, i bounced across the above link to one of the tracks off the new album with vocalist Annette Orlizen (i think thats correct, lemme know if its wrong). and i was wowed! definetly superior to Tarja IMO (and MO is top notch, if i do say so myself), quite worth the listen. also check out "bye bye beautiful" and "the islander" for other samples.
Thoughts?

09:16 am - Natural remedies 1, modern medicine 0 Well, last night i was having a bitch of a time getting to sleep. i had a tickle in my throat that nothing could dislodge! i guzzled water, i sucked down a few strepsils (is it just me, or are they not as strong as they used to be?), and still i kept coughing! at about 1:30am, i sat up and chucked a major sick-man-tanty. huge. so poor suffering monique got up, looked around and came up with trying some honey and lemon tea as a last last resort. she didnt think it would taste nice, but it wasn't unpleasant at all. and..it worked! the tickle disappeared and we settled in for a night of mostly uninterrupted sleep! :O
so if you've a bad cough that wont f'k off, honey and lemon tea!

06:32 pm - Chris' Adventures in being really fucking sick! Well, yesterday and today have been a lot of fun, if i've ever had fun before! got up feeling a little crappy again - revenge of the cold. well, that wasnt so bad, i could tough it out, and i had to go to work to start training my replacement. so i did. by midday i was feverish and feeling pretty crappy, so i got the lovely girlfriend to get me from work at 2:30. we hit traffic on the way home, and i got to experience my first ever event of hurling in an (almost) moving car! it was 5 by the time we got home (stopped off at her parents to let me rest for a while and to clean my lunch from the car door...yum). i was still feeling shocking. then about 9:30, i threw up again! really heavy wretches that hurt like a bitch. really worried, herself took me to the after hours clinic at mount druitt hospital (which is also part of the emergency ward), where they took my temperature (39) and blood pressure (really really low) and immediately admitted me with severe dehydration!
was at the hospital to 4:30am today, and then we got to come home. i've got a virus, it just took me by surprise and the dehydration and low blood pressure really screwed me up. so i've been drinking water and sleeping most of today. Doctors orders are to rinse and repeat for a few days.
fun!

06:05 am - False Alarm... Wow, so either my work is Incompetent, or liars.
turns out that because i'm on secondment, i dont actually GET any of the choices i was told i have. i get to go back to the call center...and thats it!
well fuck that! that's like being let off the chain gang for a month of blowjobs, and then a few days in getting put back onto rock breaking duty.
so. now i'm looking at alternatives.

10:11 am - Moving? Might do... So i've been fired. Actually, to be precise, I've been made Redundant. If you want to keep this practice of prescision, everyone in merchandise/marketing and finance in north rocks office are being made redundant.
Sucks...BUT! the business has indicated that they'll need someone to fill my role at the melbourne office. And are offering to help relocate. which means officeworks is offering to move me to melbourne! biiiig big deal!!
the question isnt so much whether i'll accept it (im waiting to find out if the lady who i'm standing in for while shes on maternity leave wants the offer, because she'll get priority on it if she does), but whether i SHOULD.
And if so...where? The office is in East Bentleigh, so i'd want to live near there, near enough to be convenient at any rate. 1hr transit time == the suck.
Anyone Local-Yokels about? Current Location: Home Current Music: Geek Militia Radio!
